A beautiful female kingfisher captured in pure watercolour over an Indian ink background wash, enhanced with touches of 22ct gold leaf near the deckle-torn border of the cotton paper. She is perched on a bed of moss, but is ready to fly off !

Float mounted in a deep box frame in limed wood, measuring 28 x 28 x 4 cm, which can be either wall hung or stood on a horizontal surface (see thumbnail for image)
